Maeve Rooftop Experience
Planned and executed a client-facing networking event in Raleigh, hosted on the rooftop terrace of Maeve—an EDSA-designed property.
The event brought together regional clients and industry professionals in a setting that reflected the firm’s design ethos while fostering meaningful connections.
Challenge
Managing a full-scale event remotely, while navigating the unpredictability of a non-traditional venue. From environmental factors (wind, temperature shifts) to operational hiccups (facility issues, active residents), the challenge was to maintain a seamless, elevated experience despite real-time disruptions.
Strategy
Control what you can, anticipate what you can’t. The approach focused on over-preparation, strong vendor partnerships, and a deep understanding of the space to ensure the event felt intentional, polished, and aligned with EDSA’s brand, regardless of behind-the-scenes challenges.
Execution:
Led end-to-end planning and on-site execution independently
Designed the spatial experience to reflect a clean, elevated, and brand-aligned atmosphere
Coordinated logistics remotely, including vendor management and event setup
Partnered with Empire Eats and Events and On My Way Bartending to ensure smooth food and beverage operations
Adapted in real time to unforeseen challenges (weather, facility issues, active residential setting)
Managed guest experience on-site, ensuring flow, comfort, and engagement throughout the event
Despite unexpected disruptions, the event maintained a strong energy and high level of guest satisfaction — evidenced by extended engagement (including bar service running longer than planned).
Results
Delivered a successful, well-attended event that strengthened regional relationships and showcased EDSA’s work in an authentic, experiential setting. The event reinforced the firm’s presence in the Raleigh market while demonstrating the ability to execute high-quality experiences independently.
Lessons Learned
Preparation is everything, but adaptability is what makes it work. This experience reinforced the importance of over-planning, trusting the right partners, and understanding a space beyond its aesthetics. The best events aren’t the ones where nothing goes wrong — they’re the ones where no one notices that anything did.
The proof is in the performance.
